Why Harvard Divested with Bill McKibben '82

Author and activist Bill McKibben '82 will share the inside story of how the decade-long divestment campaign led by students and alumni culminated in President Bacow's recent historic announcement that Harvard will end its investments in fossil fuels. McKibben, who helped launch the global fossil fuel divestment campaign in 2012, is the author of numerous books, a regular contributor to the New Yorker, founder of the climate action group 350.org, and winner of the Right Livelihood Award, known as the alternative Nobel Prize. Discussion will be moderated by journalist David Goodman '82. Sponsored by the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Vermont.
